| Asking yourself the right questions will help focus your efforts and steer you in the direction of success. What are your strengths? What do you like to do? What are your skills, technical and otherwise? What skills would you like to develop? What kind of work environment suits you? How much responsibility can you handle? What are the demands of your lifestyle, and what kinds of compromises are you willing to make? Your answers will likely reveal that some career choices are better suited to you than others. If they are not obvious to you, consider taking a career assessment and/ or speaking to a career counselor. An assessment and analysis of your responses will generate a list of career possibilities, some of which you may not have even considered. You should also do some serious market research to learn about industries and organizations that interest you. |

My Coaching |
| Get an edge over the competition |
Asking others what they think can be tremendously eye-opening. When you ask people for their honest opinion, you never know what you might hear - so be prepared for anything. Some things to keep in mind:
- Don't get defensive.
- Don't take anything personally.
- Do listen carefully and analyze what people share.
- Thank people for their candor and comments.
