| It's easy to get caught up in the job board trap. Limiting your search to job boards is not ideal. With thousands of people likely viewing the same job postings as you, and hundreds applying to them, it can be a pretty competitive game. Success can be hit and miss on job boards, and even if you are the most qualified person out there, you risk being lost in the shuffle. Don't abandon job boards altogether, but use them effectively. Also, be sure to use what you learn from job boards in your networking efforts. |

My Coaching
|
| Get an edge over the competition |
| Assuming you're familiar with how to effectively use job boards, if you're not getting results, then it's time to try a different approach. You know that old sales saying about "pounding the pavement”? Give it a try! Check the classifieds of the paper, walk around office buildings and different business centres to browse the companies out there. Start to build a network, and request some informational interviews with professionals in your field of interest. Networking is an excellent way to find the kind of job you really want. |
