"Whether you think you can or can't ... you are right." -Henry Ford
Most people tap very little of their natural potential, leaving many strengths under-developed and under-utilized and many opportunities unrealized. If you're like most people, your greatest talents will remain below the surface, like an iceberg with 90% of its mass under water. Yet this is what must be tapped if you are to realize all the possibilities of your own life.

The question is, how are you going to tap all that strength and potential to achieve your success? Tim believes the answer is through the Straight A's of Attitude, Aptitude, and Action. It is not a matter of understanding or perfecting any one of the Three A's; it is about practicing and excelling in all three of them in your everyday life. When you have all Three A's in synch, you will have mastered the formula for success.

Who Moved My Cheese: An Amazing Way to Deal with Change in Your Work and in Your Life - By Spencer Johnson, MD Who Moved My Cheese?
Author, Spencer Johnson, MD
We've all heard that the only thing constant is change. Spencer Johnson addresses this reality in Who Moved My Cheese? through the adventures and misadventures of four characters in a maze.

Sniff and Scurry are mice who are driven by instinct rather than complex thought and emotion to find their "cheese". Hem and Haw are "little people" with the human tendency to overthink and overcomplicate matters, including what it means to have cheese and how to go about finding it.

When the cheese is abundant and predictable, Hem and Haw become complacent and feel entitled to partake. They are both offended and unnerved when the cheese disappears. Sniff and Scurry take nothing for granted, however, and aren't fazed at the prospect of having to go in search of "New Cheese". They anticipate change and are therefore better able to cope. They navigate the maze, negotiating dead ends and other obstacles, but always end up finding cheese.

At first, Hem and Haw complain about the lack-of-cheese situation in which they find themselves, and obstinately stay put expecting the cheese to somehow reappear. After much hemming and hawing, Haw finally breaks away from his fear of change. He even articulates a number of insights on "The Handwriting on the Wall", in hopes that his friend Hem will finally come around to recognize that "Change Happens", and that anticipating it, responding quickly and enjoying change is the best approach.

Who Moved My Cheese? is a simple story, with concepts and learnings that are not new to most of us. Some people may find it profound in its simplicity. Others may counter that our challenges around change are much more complex and cannot be distilled down to such an unrealistic approach. In any case, it certainly doesn't hurt to be reminded from time to time to have the right attitude about change and be proactive in managing it - after all, change isn't going anywhere.
